Updates to the People’s President Page

From Kimberly:

Got a chance to put some work into the page.

Here are some updates I made:

  • Changed the list of Libertarian Presidential candidates to include those listed at the national party web-site.
  • Changed the Constitution Party Presidential candidates to match the list at politics1.com
  • Changed the web-site for Green Party Presidential Candidate Cynthia McKinney to the one that she promotes most for her campaign: www.runcynthiarun.org.
  • Removed Barbara Boxer as a potential Democratic Party Presidential candidate. (Done largely on intuition and the common knowledge principal. Think she is too high profile to be truly thinking about it now, and no one talks about it.)
  • Removed Condoleeza Rice as a potential Republican Party Presidential candidate (For the same reasons above, and because the Bush policies are failing so much, I don’t think anyone from his administration would even try to run at this point.)
  • What you can’t see on the page: Reflecting on where to go with my list of Democratic candidates and Republican candidates. I don’t think I ever want to wipe them down to just the ones “at the top”, because the People’s President Page is supposed to encourage independent-minded candidates and insurgents. Think I will keep up a list of potential candidates and low-profile candidates all the way up until the conventions of their respective parties. That means that while other people have it down to only Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, I am still going to give a platform to other Democratic presidential contenders. (Wonder if any of them are against war?)
  • (Does anyone notice that I still have Al Gore listed? My husband and I don’t believe anyone can yet exclude some scenario where Gore quickly rises to the top or steps in, etc.)
