War Legislation in Both Houses – message from Bill McNulty

Friends, This is the precursor to a repeat of the Iraq fiasco. The legislation is presently in the ” agitation folder” , utilized by the those legislators who sense the tone and temper before acting. Their present thinking is summarized by their statement that it should go through like a hot knife through butter. The press is, as usual, cooperating in this effort by their silence. Every congressperson and senator should hear a resounding no before it’s too late and we start down the same road again. The recent revival of this legislation followed shortly after last weeks AIPAC meeting, attended by over 7000 people. This is the same meeting where Obama gave little or no indication that he would resist any efforts suggested by the powerful AIPAC.
Thanks to all the LI P&J groups who have begun spreading the word on this first step to new war. Bill McNulty
From “Just Foreign Policy”, a non-partisan group that studies international issues and is against the Iraq War.

The US House of Representatives is considering a resolution that could lead us into war with Iran . It would demand that the President impose a blockade on Iran – which Iran would almost certainly see as an act of war.  Some congressional sources say the House could vote on the resolution, H.Con.Res. 362, as early as next week.

I just asked my Representative to ensure this resolution is not approved. Can you join me?
