Long Island Wins: Suffolk County, “We Work for You?”

For the full story by Kirby Einhorn:
Long Island Wins :: We Work for You?

Long Island WINS is a group dedicated to exploring the contributions of immigrants to the Long Island community and economy.

They have a great post about the January 14th, Community Meeting, held by the County Executive’s Office. Was the meeting real or symbolic? Find out over at LI WINS.

Also, a great pull quote below. Evidently, Steve Levy is trying to steer attention off of himself and on to a local newspaper. As if newspapers made up the news and initiated federal investigations…

…in both the main session and the break out session with the deputy commissioners the media was linked to many of the “problems” plaguing Suffolk County. The media was blamed for keeping the story of hate crimes in the public eye. At one point one of the deputy commissioners was asked a question about the federal investigation currently being conducted regarding hate crimes in Suffolk county and he responded by laughing and saying “Oh, you’ve been reading Newsday.” This investigation was reported by Newsday, The New York Times, Long Island Business News , Easthampton Star , New York Post , WNYC , 1010 Wins and many others.
