Long Island Summer Music Concert Series

h/t to Wendy and Charlotte for compiling these lists

Summer Music Festival are abundant around us!  I just wanted to remind you all of some of the great musical events all around us.  There are a lot that I know of, but I am sure that there are many more in your neck of the woods that want to share with others.  There are many of them that are completely free, and there are some that you pay for a full day of various bands.
At Heckscher Park in Huntington there are free events 6 days a week.  This is the best please for outdoor shows.  It is a small and cozy area.

Patchogue has two great things this summer.  Every other Friday night, July 2, 16, 30 and August 13.   They close down main street and have three different music stages going on at different parts on the road.  Last Friday I got to see a local band that I have seen before and then got to meet a local SKA band that I never knew about. http://www.patchogu evillage. org/specialevent s.htm
Patchogue also has my favorite musical weekend that is coming up this very weekend July 9,10,11.  The Great South Bay Music Festival .  It is worth the price.  http://greatsouthbaymusicfestival. com/GSB_Schedule .html
The weekend after that is the Blues Festival in River Head. July 17 and 18Th  http://www.riverblu es.org/
The weekend after that is the Be-In Solar Festival on July 24Th and 25Th at the
