Newsday Names Sales Exec New Publisher

Newsday has named one of their new sales executives publisher of Long Island’s lone daily and promoted the former publisher head of the Newsday Media Group, Cablevision Systems Corp. announced Tuesday.

Fred Groser, who Newsday reports was hired earlier this year as senior vice president of sales, has been tapped to lead the paper’s editorial, online and business operations. Terry Jimenez, the former publisher of free New York City daily amNewYork who replaced former Newsday publisher Timothy Knight last fall, has been appointed president of Newsday Media Group…

Not long after Jimenez had just taken the helm, the Melville-based newspaper implemented a paywall on its website, requiring users who are not Cablevision or Newsday subscribers to pay a fee to log on…
