author; currently hosts Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell on CNN; has
been an outspoken advocate for animals issues, including the BLM
roundup of mustangs, factory farming and most recently the slaughter
of Canada geese in NYC. We welcome her advocacy for NYC’s carriage horses.

Council Member Melissa Mark Viverito, sponsor of Intro 86A, the bill
to phase out the carriage industry by substituting electric cars –
and former Council Member Tony Avella, (who is running for NYS
Senate) sponsor of the first ever bill to ban the carriage
industry Intro 658A – are both expected to attend pending their
scheduling availability.

instrumentalist who is also a tireless animal activist and has taught
Humane Education in schools around NYC. Joy, whose latest CD “The
Pirate of Eel Pie” was released in 2008, recently opened up for
Chrissie Hynde and sings on the new CD by Sufjan Stevens. She is
someone you will never forget.

quiet sensitivity.

  1. You might as well rip your money up and throw it down the toilet – this organization has been around for 4 or 5 years, has raised thousands and thousands of dollars, and has lost TWICE at City Hall, and to date has only helped ONE horse.
Consider donating your money to Blue Star Equiculture or the NY Humane Society instead – these excellent orgs both have thriving carriage horse retirement programs! Or better yet – get in touch with Another Chance 4 Horses and sponsor a slaughter-bound horse, of which there are thousands going to their death ever week.
The Coalition to Ban HDC is a fraud!

  2. Nice photo! This horse is very well turned out and taken care of- notice the shine in his clipped coat! Only a very well cared for horse can exhibit such a shine on a coat that has been shaved. The horse’s feet are in excellent shape, harness is clean & fits perfectly! Well done- great horse care! Lovely!
