JIM FRAZZITTA—A veteran singer/songwriter and a staple of the region’s acoustic music scene. Jim’s songs have received worldwide airplay. He was a founding member and frontman of the former, legendary band, Nylon & Steel. His music has been described as “passionate, moving, and mesmerizing,” and his performances are a powerful blend of folk, acoustic rock, blues, and ballads. He is currently at work, finishing production of his third album of original music, entitled Tales of the Midnight Busker. It is set to be released in the late fall. Guest Features

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist BARRY BE, a former Long Island resident now living in Ohio, performs original songs that are sometimes comic, romantic, tragic, haunting, or contemplative. His creations draw on not only experiences from those states, but also dreams of imagined places. He performs both solo and with his band RiverFall. Audiences usually find Barry’s songs engaging, catchy and memorable, in some ways akin to some of the nationally famous artists whom he covers, including Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash, Simon & Garfunkel, and others. Come see Barry Be perform in the Folk-Groovin’ Cafe’s intimate setting, and thereafter look for him at other local venues (to be announced at the Cafe’s concert, and/or check www.myspace.com/barrybe or his Facebook page for more details).

WALT SARGENT is a singer songwriter with wide range of musical influences: reggae, jazz, classical, and popular. Walt reminds us sometimes of Michael Sexton or John Gorka. Walt performed with Opera Pro Voce for many years on Long Island, published 2 CDs, placed in a national songwriting competition, and co-wrote the school song for Dowling College.

TOM PALMINTERI is a singer/songwriter, and composer who also plays guitar, harmonica, and sometimes piano. He has written songs that tell a story and composed instrumental music. As a life-long fan of music and film he has always felt that music was one of the best ways of communicating ideas and emotions.

Presented by Molecule Music. The Folk-Groovin Café is a private event and is not affiliated with any organization.
