The great spirit of Peter, Paul, and Mary’s music blesses the Wall Street protesters.
First, singing Puff the Magic Dragon, adding words about pirates who are really stock traders, and sailing at “Liberty Square”. Then, saying that him and his son are proud to be there, and his daughter will be coming. Singing “Where Have All The Flowers Gone”.

He is staying a long time. I think he is stalling until his daughter shows up. And, now, a family reunion…very cool!

It is all so heartwarming and gushing, it is kind of breaking down the people’s mic. People are in awe. At least we can all hear the singing!!!

Bethany Yarrow sang a beautiful, Native American song, in the Native language. The words included a request to shower blessings onto America and to the next seven generations. A moment of quiet, spiritual beauty.
Then, everyone linked hands and sang “We Shall Overcome” and “We Shall Live in Peace”. Mushy, mushy. I was crying. I was holding up the phone to a peace activist friend who is not on-line so much. And, people in the chatroom said they were crying.

Just as weeds compete for nutrients and water that cultivated garden plants require, our inner weed seeds, the germs of prejudice and hate, prevent us from experiencing our deepest root-connections to nature. With the right intention, removing weeds from our yards and gardens can serve as a paradigm for eradicating the inner weeds of hate and prejudice that many of us harbor and too often suppress. The physical act of weeding,therefore, enables us individually and collectively to realize Dr. King’s dream for a world free of hate and prejudice for one and all.
Let’s weed out hate, LITERALLY, and sow the seeds of peace!
