Please check out “Sonny Meadows Week” at Peace Couple (plus, quiz at bottom of this post)

As many of you know, Sonny Meadows is a local musician and activist, here on Long Island, New York. The Wilders have admired his work — and his many solo performances and band performances — over the years. With the advent of the occupy movement, it seems to us that Sonny’s music about injustice, social justice, war and peace, is even more valuable. Now there are legions of empowered people to enjoy these songs, and learn this music.

At our Peace Couple website, we do a “Peace Song of the Day”, every day of the year. We used this past week to celebrate Sonny Meadows. If you go over there, you can check out which 7 songs we picked from among Sonny’s long list of favorites. (Maybe you want to guess first, or, think which of his songs you would have chosen, before you click over?)

For the real insiders, we could not resist making a game out of this project. So, at the readmore, you can find a quiz. See if you can match the Sonny Meadows song, with a brief quote from the lyrics. (And, if my darling husband is reading this, you have to play, too! And, no cheating!)
