A Harvest Homecoming Fundraiser 10/6/13

Homecoming Farm, North Amityville, NY 11701Homecoming Farm is pleased and proud to honor Monsignor James C. Vlaun of Telecare and the program, Real Food, at their annual fundraiser. The fundraiser, A Harvest Homecoming, will be held on October 6, 2013 in the Helen Butler Hall from 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM. Helen Butler Hall is located at Dominican Village at 565 Albany Avenue, Amityville, NY  11701.  For more information, please contact: S. A Harvest Homecoming will feature music; dancing; raffles; delicious food and wine; and special activities for children including a puppet show. Tickets are $40 per adult, $10 per child, Special Table of Ten pricing, $350. Special sponsorship and journal opportunities are available.

In addition to being the Catholic Chaplain for the NY Jets for the past 13 years, Monsignor Jim has hosted the nationally syndicated radio show, Religion & Rock, for over 21 years. He is also a cookbook author, and hosts three programs on Telecare: Good News, Everyday Faith Live, and Real Food. On Real Food, he focuses on the family table and the joy that preparing food brings to those who share it together, while stressing the importance of using locally grown foods. 

Homecoming Farm is a three-acre NOFA NY LLC certified organic farm located on the land of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville.  They grow beautiful organic vegetables, herbs and flowers for their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members and the guests of The Interfaith Nutrition Network (The INN).  Last year, we donated over 3,000 lbs. of their farm-fresh, organic vegetables, flowers, and herbs to The INN. The emphasis at Homecoming Farm is on organic farm practices, sustainability and community.

Homecoming Farm is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville.  They are committed to the belief that the human and natural world is one community of life.  They believe that when we care for the Earth, we care for ourselves, each other, and future generations while creating sustainable communities.
