Who to write-in for in the 9/10/15 Suffolk Green Party Primary?

Vice President Dick Cheney casts his ballot in...I would personally suggest for the Thursday, September 10th Primary to write-in William Ford and Anthony Senft for Family Court Judge to keep the Republicans and Democrats from “stealing” our line in Suffolk County. And in Islip, also writing in George Harkin and Matthew Hughes for 5th District Court.  You can print this PDF to bring to the primary with you: 2015 Suffolk Green Party Primary

Let me explain.  There will be a Green Party primary in Suffolk County for Family Court Judge.  The funny thing is that no one running is a Green or particularly interested in the Green Party.  The candidates are a Republican, Conservative, and Democratic who are only interested in getting another ballot line so they can get on the bench.  Green Party members need to show them they can’t just use election law to steal our line.  I would suggest writing in two other usurpers, William Ford and Anthony Senft, in the primary to mess them all up.

Remember we all need to write-in the same people so that our votes beat the votes of anyone that doesn’t realize it’s not a real primary and innocently votes for one of the usurpers. And remember, the primary is on a Thursday, not a Tuesday, this year.

Our Green Party members in Islip will have an additional local primary on Thursday, September 10th for Islip’s 5th District Court.  My suggestion is that they write-in two other usurpers  George Harkin and Matthew Hughes for District Court.

Make sure to write-in, and do not vote for the pre-printed candidates, to be sure that you don’t vote for the Democrats and Republicans trying to steal our line.

The Green Party of New York State has a ban on the policy of endorsing Democratic and Republican candidates, because those parties do not agree with the Green Party’s worldwide Four Pillars of Social and Economic Justice; Grassroots Democracy; Ecological Wisdom, and Nonviolence/Peace.

Democratic and Republican Party insiders have taken advantage of New York State Election law to place their candidates on the Green Party line. New York State election law does not require these judge candidates to have the permission of the Green Party to run, nor to inform Green Party members who sign their petitions that they are not in their party or endorsed by their party.  These judge candidates are  Jeanmarie Costello (R-Riverhead Town Justice); George Harkin (R-Family Court); Matthew Hughes (R-Family Court);; Martha Luft (D-Family Court); Gary Weber (R-Southampton town Justice); William Ford (D-5th District Court); John Schentino (R-5th District Court); Anthony Senft (R-5th District Court); and Robert Cicale (R-5th District Court).

Situations like this are frustrating. It takes a lot of hard work for a small party like ours to stay principled so we can keep alive and growing.  We have been able to push back against the corporate parties before when they tried to steal our line. I hope by sticking together again on Thursday, September 10th, we can strengthen our party.

If you are looking for a positive action to do for the party in addition to voting down these usurpers, Please go to http://www.paulinegreen.us/ to support Pauline Salotti for Brookhaven Town Board.  Pauline is a real Green Party candidate.

  1. I just got my Absentee Ballot and was about to contact you about what to do. So your letter e-mail came in the perfect time. I am not in Islip, but I am confused why Islip people are supposed to write in the Family Court Judge candidates that aren’t supposed to be there?

    • You are writing in different people to keep the wrong people from winning. We all need to vote for the same different people to make sure that the ones pre-printed on the ballot do not win. We are targeting to write in other people who are trying to take our line to point out what they have done, and inconvenience them into having to deal with the board of elections for a race they are not running in.

We did this before years ago, and they let us alone after that because it became too much hassle for them.

  2. Who/ what are William Ford and Anthony Senft? Why am I voting for them?

    • For a number of reasons: 1. To block the people trying to take our line. 2. Because they are running in a different race and will not want to accept our line when they win. 2. Because they are also trying to take our line in a different race so we want to inconvenience them. 3. Because they are attorneys and can qualify as judges.
