Bush as prez,
can it be?
one vote for you,
and none for me.
I keep on dreaming, waking,
hard to believe,
that it can be.

toss a two-sided coin
obverse no further from death
dream of the edge on the Green
fear knowing the mind of the world
casting my ballot off the roof

brother Jeb said,
I’ve won Flo-ri-da.
But it’s not up to
your brother Du-b-ya.
The Jews have voted for
Hitler now.
Ralph Nader no longer
sa-cred cow.
I keep on dreaming, waking,
hard to believe,
that it can be.

Puppetista Scalia! Puppetista Thomas! Usurper of ballots Rehnquist!  Rehnquist the faithless!   Rehnquist the heavy judger of presidents!  Rehnquist the lethal injection deathchamber and legislator of loss!  Rehnquist the stunted government! Rehnquist whose mind is pure ideology!

I pray for you,
pray for me,
a hanging chad
leads to mi-ser-y.
Sca-li-a, Rehnquist, and Thomas, too,
Sandra Day what did we do to you?
I keep on dreaming, waking,
hard to believe,
that it can be.

TV only sees three hundred black caps throwing stones through monoculture.  Newsweek won’t write of how mycelium –  forty thousand thready filaments weaving a blue-green tapestry — removes the poisons incorporated into our soil.

Recycle cab-i-net members from long ago,
add some color,
but just for show.
Try to lure a Dem-o-crat from split Senate,
but they will
have none of it.
Three more weeks of Bubba here,
then Du-b-ya like daddy
for just four years
I keep on dreaming, waking,
hard to believe,
that it can be.

  1. Very classy.

Chief Justice Rehnquist died in 2005. He died of cancer. I’m sure you must have known at least someone who’s died of cancer. Right?

So you think it’s what, smart to write what you did? Clever? And you’re affiliated with a political party? What do you do? Get together with losers and recite tripe like what you wrote about a man who’s not around to deend himself?

  2. It is pretty obvious that this was written and published in December 2000 since it ends with a call-out to be protest at the 1/20/01 Un-naugaration.
