Sat. Dec 6th: Elect Malik Rahim to Congress (Louisiana)

Update: 12/7/08: Anh “Joseph” Cao (Republican) won. Malik Rahim  got at least 3%.  The update on Wilderside is: here.

New Orleans, Louisiana holds elections on Saturday! Hurrah for the working people! Come out to vote, Saturday, December 6, 2008!

Malik Rahim is running on a platform of environmental peace and justice. Malik is a Green Party candidate. He is running against the incumbent Democrat (who is facing charges of corruption, and does not seem to have the support of his own party); a Republican businessman; and a Libertarian.

Malik has a chance to win. If you know anyone in New Orleans, please call and remind them that today they can VOTE or HELP SPREAD THE WORD for Malik Rahim, because today is the rescheduled vote for Congress, 2nd District in New Orleans. (It was changed to later due to hurricane emergencies.)

Below is a new video, and the official campaign update, but first, a few words from a green friend in Louisiana:

Informal update:

Today, i actually heard normally non political people talking about Malik.

One saw a billboard but wondered why she saw NO tv ads. i explained the money limitations.

The general attitude seems to be either Jefferson will win because of his organization or that “anything can happen”. Hopefully its the latter…

I am working tomorrow night so won’t be sending out messages like I did during the Presidential election results.

Some ride across town, some across the state, and some across the continent. Some host riders along the way. Together we’re all Bike4Peace.  http://b4p.bbnow.org/ We still have vacancies for hosting on the following dates. Dates where there are two days are rest days. Please let us know if you, family, or friends can host us overnight (or during the day on night ride days) in the following locations. Many thanks. […]
