Updates in Danny Hauser/Chemo situation

Daniel Hauser

Daniel Hauser

Some updates (details below): Daniel Hauser-the boy from Minnesota who had run away with his mom to avoid taking chemo –  is now taking chemo. His parents have also been using alternative medicine, by taking him to accupuncture. A judge ordered that Daniel’s medical records will be public record. The parents let go the old attorney and hired a new one.  The parents have revised the web-site and are asking for donations at:

Make check payable to:
The Danny Hauser Benefit Fund

And mail to:
Wells Fargo Bank
The Danny Hauser Benefit Fund
226 North Minnesota Street New Ulm, MN 56073

I just sent a small check. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for this family to fight for their rights and dignity, and against the medical establishment and the courts.

I am very glad that Danny and his parents are empowering themselves in some part of his care by adding alternative medicine to the other part which is being foisted upon them. It is very good practice to add alternative medicine to regular medicine when possible. Often in cancer treatment, that means using alternative medicine to boost your immune system and/or address symptoms and discomfort.

Hausers using acupuncture
By Dan Nienaber / June 19, 2009 08:59 pm

…Anthony and Colleen Hauser have also turned to acupuncture and acupressure treatments for Daniel Hauser to ease his pain as he continues treatment for a tumor, according to a news release issued by the family Friday.

Daniel Hauser attempted to stop the chemotherapy that had been prescribed after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a highly curable form of cancer…

The Hausers have continued to comply with court order since Colleen and Daniel Hauser returned to Sleepy Eye voluntarily. They have also sought treatments from Jeffrey Kotulski of Between the Bridges Healing Center in Mankato, including acupuncture and acupressure treatments that took place Wednesday.

The Hausers are scheduled to return to court Tuesday to update Rodenberg about Daniel Hauser’s treatment and any progress that has been made. They will be represented by Barbara Gislason…

A guardian ad Lietem representing Daniel Hauser had made a motion to prohibit public access to the boy’s medical records and to Tuesday’s hearing. That motion was denied by Rodenberg, who cited public interest in the case in an order released Thursday…

“The family is experiencing financial challenges and would greatly appreciate your donations,” the news release said.
A “Danny Hauser Benefit Fund” has been set up at the Wells Fargo Bank in New Ulm…
