The Green Party of Suffolk will be holding its annual membership meeting on Saturday, July 28th 2007. It will be held from 1pm to 4pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bellport on Browns Lane. The meeting is open to all registered Green Party members.
On the agenda will be: Welcome to newly enrolled Green Party members; a discussion of the Green Party petition drive for its candidate for Suffolk County Executive; a discussion of the upcoming 2008 U.S. President race; and a report back from the GP-US annual national meeting in Reading, Pennsylvania. Green Party Chair Roger Snyder is a delegate to the GP-US National Committee.
Petitions will also be available to help Green Party member Cesar Malaga achieve ballot status in his bid for Suffolk County Legislature, District 14, the seat presently held by Wayne Horsley of Babylon.
The Green Party is connected to a worldwide political movement. The four pillars of the Green Party are: Social and Economic Justice; Grassroots Democracy; Ecological Wisdom and Non-Violence.
