URGENT! Ask Lou Dobbs to Cover the Green Party

Yesterday, on CNN Lou Dobbs called for middle class Americans to leave the Democrat and Republican parties and register Independent because both parties are controlled by corporate lobbyists. He said, “I don’t know about you, but I can’t take seriously anyone who takes either the Republican Party or Democratic Party seriously — in part because neither party takes you and me seriously; in part because both are bought and paid for by corporate America and special interests. And neither party gives a damn about the middle class”. Since Lou Dobbs is suggesting Americans change their voter registration to Independent as a form of protest against the corporate parties.  Let’s encourage him to suggest changing party registration to GREEN.

Dobbs says “Without that strong, clear and vibrant voice, all the major decisions about America and our future will be made by the elites of government, big business and the dominant special interests. Those elites treasure your silence, as it enables them to claim America‘s future for their own.” Tell Dobbs that the Green Party is that “strong, clear and vibrant voice” that will stand up to the corporate lobby and represent the public’s interest.

Point out that changing voter registration to Independent still leaves the voter vulnerable to sophisticated political “divide and conquer” techniques.  The Green Party does NOT accept corporate donations. Greens are independent (of corporate interests) and thus have the freedom to engage in honest political dialogue on behalf of the middle class.

  1. Lou Dobbs, like many of the rest of us, likely doesn’t have the option of registering as a Green. They aren’t a choice for registration here in North Carolina. Here, you’re Democrat or Republican. You can register as Independent, but that’s your only other choice. The first step to the Greens making some headway is to get on the registration forms in more states.
