It was a wonderful day. Thanks to the Solar Cafe, who donated their space, including the gazebo with solar panels on top. Kimberly Wilder acted as host. People wrote letters to their legislators (at least 17 mailed today) and made banners and a mural. Musician Ahmad Ali played and Gordian Raacke of Renewable Energy Long Island spoke. Ian Wilder emceed the program. We had a surprise appearance by Suffolk County Legislature Deputy Presiding Officer Vivian Viloria-Fisher. There were about 100 people who participated throughout the afternoon. An entourage arrived from Sophia’s Garden– a CSA in nearby Amityville. The program ended on a warm note, with Legislator Viloria-Fisher singing with Solar Cafe owner Chris Castro.
