Vounteers needed for Solar Tour 11/6/07

The largest public renewable energy education event in the world is coming to Long Island and we’d like to ask you to be a crucial part of  it.

Renewable energy sources and energy efficiency offer the greatest potential not only for diminishing the effects of climate change and global warming, but for economic development and growth for Long Islanders.  This topic is in the news, on talk shows and websites worldwide.
Each year, Renewable Energy Long Island (RELI) partners with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) to host the National Solar Tour and Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Open House. Last year, we had 101 homes and businesses all over Long Island hosting 3,800 interested visitors as part of this Tour.

This year’s Tour will be on Saturday, October 6th (Columbus Day weekend) from 10am to 4pm and we expect it to be an even bigger event.  We have been so fortunate in years past to have had such generous volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped make the tour so successful. If you have any time to give us to help with the various types of work that the tour entails please let me know. We need people to proofread written materials and enter data, help with mailings and other general tasks.

Thank you for supporting renewable energy for Long Island,

Tina Guglielmo, Renewable Energy Long Island (RELI)
