Raids against immigrant communities in Long Island: Rally held

Immigration advocates in Hempstead today denounced immigration authorities for conducting raids in Latino communities in Hempstead, Westbury, Brentwood and Central Islip this week.

“This has got to stop,” said Omar Henriquez, board president of the Hempstead-based Workplace Project…

About 50 immigrants and advocates attended a morning news conference in Hempstead, minutes from where several homes were raided.
