Dear Federal Workers: Please use these five bullet points to report to DOGE (and Musk)

My advice to federal workers: Five Bullet points to send back to your DOGE overloads. (Overseers? Two-bit Management Consultants?)

Black silhouetted tick or check mark in box, isolated on white background.

Weekly Report

My work for this past week summarized:

1. Used my institutional knowledge to problem solve and support team goals.

2. Did the work my job title entails (which I hope is information that DOGE has in case they fire me suddenly or I quit.)

3. Attended meetings, collaborated with colleagues, and networked in subtle ways that neither tech teenagers nor robots could ever understand.

4. Consulted with professional organizations, professional associations, and my network of governmental and nongovernmental colleagues to try
to understand what sudden government spending cuts and the increased needs of a nation in turmoil will mean for my job, my agency, my department, and my profession.

5. Attacked my “to-do-pile” in between answering questions to Trump crony Elon Musk and dealing with the fears of my colleagues, clients, and family and friends about the future of America.

PS – Dear Elon Musk: Please give America 5 bullet points about why our immigrant neighbors should live in fear, though, you — whose citizenship journey included illegally working as a non-citizen — are still here, sifting through the data and files of workers, social services agencies, and every American citizen and resident?

Kimberly Wilder is a mom, poet, community organizer, and perennial candidate. She worked for eight, non-consecutive years as a temporary office worker. Ms. Wilder understands the “five bullet point summary” task that the federal workers have been required to do by DOGE. She was presented with a similar micromanaging, time-wasting, infantile request to summarize her work by a temporary employer. At the time, she realized that she did so much work, no one could possibly describe it.
