Date: Saturday, June 3rd
Time: 11:00 am-4:00pm
Location: Cadman Plaza on the Brooklyn side of the Bridge, proceeding across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan, ending with a festival in Battery Park.
We will march from Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn across the Brooklyn Bridge to Battery Park for a FESTIVAL with PERFORMANCES
Join Marriage Equality New York (MENY) in New York's largest community marriage rights action on Saturday, June 3rd 2006. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to the third annual march for equal marriage rights.
The LGBT community will be out in full force with our straight allies, supportive politicians, religious groups, and businesses.
Come to The Wedding March, as we walk together to show that we want marriage equality rights, not only in New York, but all across the nation.
With the ruling of Justice Ling Cohen in 2004 stating the denial of equal access to civil marriage is unconstitutional, now is the time to send the message that LGBT New Yorkers demand to be recognized and to receive equal treatment for their partners and families under the law to Albany.
As always, we need your involvement so please email
volunteer@marriageequalityny.org if you would like to help with the planning of this event.
