Dear Reader,
Have you ever wanted to come together with people, across the lines that divide us, to figure out how we can make change happen?
That’s what’s going to happen at the first-ever US Social Forum. It’ll be held in Atlanta from June 27 to July 1, 2007, and you’re invited.
Social Forum organizers are expecting over 10,000 people who will create hundreds of workshops, street theater, exhibits, lectures, discussions, music, and art. The USSF is modeled on the World Social Forums, which for the last seven years have inspired thousands of people across the globe with the idea that “another world is possible.” You can learn more about the USSF at www.ussf2007.org. I hope you’ll consider attending.
We’ll be there too, putting on some sessions and holding a special reception for the YES! community on Thursday evening, June 28. If you’re coming to the Forum, drop by our booth in the Atlanta Civic Center and pick up an invite to the reception. YES! staff and board members will also blog from the event—be sure to check www.yesmagazine.org/ussf for our plans, to learn more about joining us there, and for highlights from the Forum.
Looking forward to enjoying the US Social Forum together with you—in person in Atlanta or online at www.yesmagazine.org/ussf.
