Jack’s Waterfall and Friends To Perform ‘A Celebration of Life’ 2/27/09

Jack’s Waterfall, an ever-evolving musical ensemble headed by West Sayville singer/songwriter Jack Licitra, will lead an impressive line-up of performers who will come together for “A Celebration of Life” on Friday, Feb. 27, at the historic Congregational Church of Patchogue.  The event promises to be a high-energy blend of creativity, driving rhythms and audience participation, making for a unique, uplifting musical experience.  The night will begin with the first act at 7 p.m.

The Kerry Kearney Band, Easy Chief (with Andy Falco), Miles to Dayton, Karmasutra, Leslie Mendelson, Cindy Lopez and many other special friends will join the Waterfall – described by Licitra as “a place of healing and learning” – for this one special winter night in Patchogue, which will conclude with “Jack’s All-Star Jam,” featuring some of Long Island’s most talented entertainers. Andy Falco, who is now touring with his current band, the Infamous Stringdusters, will be flying in from the west coast especially for the occasion.  Falco and others who will be on stage Feb. 27th were members of the Waterstreet Blues Band, the group that Licitra belonged to before he established Jack’s Waterfall in 1998.

The architecture of the Congregational Church, where in November Licitra and a group of young musicians presented the Jack’s Waterfall Annual “World Peace Party,” has excellent acoustics, adding to the power of this evening dedicated to celebrating life and spreading hope and love for the world.  Every pew offers the best seat in the house.

The concert theme will reflect Licitra’s belief in the healing power of music.  “I believe that the magic of art is its ability to transform the everyday into something greater, something universal, something shared,” he writes on his web site, www.jackswaterfall. com.

The Congregational Chu
rch is located at 95 E. Main Street, in the
heart of the Village of Patchogue. Tickets are $20 (general seating) and may be
purchased in advance at the BrickHouse Brewery (67 W. Main St., Patchogue), the
Blue Point Brewing Co. (161 River Ave., Patchogue), the Grey Horse Tavern (291
Bayport Ave., Bayport) and Cool Beanz Coffeehouse (556 Rt. 25A, St. James).  Tickets
also may be purchased at the door the night of the concert, based on
availability. Go to myspace.com/ jackswaterfall for further information and/or
