Traffic Jam-Bay Shore-Wed. March 25th

Update!: 8:58am – One lane of Sunrise Highway eastbound is now open and traffic is moving slowly. The accident involved several cars, including an SUV flipped over on its side.

It’s 8:45 am in Long Island: If you usually take Sunrise Highway East (Route 27) to work, near Howell’s Road in Bay Shore, take a different way.

All three lanes of Sunrise Highway East are closed. Bumper-to-bumper traffic and lots of emergency vehicles zooming by.

Radio reports an accident on Sunrise Highway near Robert Moses.

The Service Road of Sunrise East is open, that is the way to go if you must.

Sunrise Highway westbound is fine and moving.

    Ian was caught in the traffic and phone in.
