KW: If I find a way to post the video directly here, or get a youtube, I will definitely do so.
For now, I have to send you to the link at NBC. (Eeek! Cover your ears for the intro commercial. I got some cancer-laser-thing ad!)
The video is: here.
It is a statement by Reverend Billy Talen, who is running for Mayor of New York City on the Green Party line.
I believe that this is part of a series that NBC is doing where every candidate gets to put up a video blurb. It just came in over my google-news alert.
Reverend Billy Talen did great. He keeps it focused on his “Fabulous 500 Neighborhoods” theme. And, he fills out his political theory beautifully by saying that supporting neighborhoods can support our economic and constitutional rights. Also, that we should support tolerance, small businesses and families. He mentions that the “stop and frisk” policies are creating fear and racial tension. And, he keeps coming back to the solution: Support neighborhoods.
At the beginning of the video, Reverend Billy says that he is running on “The Green Party ticket.” That is awesome support for the party. And, it points people to look up his fellow candidates.
Go Reverend Billy!
