3/3/06 Sr Helen Prejean: Challenging The Way We Look At The Death Penalty in America

Dynamic speaker and renowned death penalty activist Sr. Helen Prejean, author of  Dead Man Walking,  and Death of Innocents at Patchogue’s  St. Joseph’s College to help reenergize our campaign to end the death penalty in New York.

During her presentation, “Our Capital Punishment System: Challenging the Way We Look at the Death Penalty in America” America,” Sr. Helen was surrounded by the cast of  a staged version of Dead Man Walking.  It will be performed at theClare Rose PlayHouse on campus should you choose to attend. Seating is limited, so tickets ($14 for individuals and $12 for students/ seniors) can be secured in advance by calling the Playhouse at 631-654-0199.)

Colleen will be speaking at Wednesday, June 7, 2006 gathering of the Babylon Green Party.

Campus Travel Directions –

From the East: Travel west on Sunrise Highway (Rt. 27) to Exit 52. Turn left at the first light onto Waverly Avenue, over the  overpass, then turn left again at the next light onto the Sunrise Highway service road. The college entrance and parking facilities are located 1,000 feet to the right.

From the West: Travel east on Sunrise Highway (Rt. 27) to Exit 52 – Waverly. Continue on the Sunrise Highway service road. The College entrance and parking facilities are located 1,000 feet beyond the traffic, past Waverly Avenue.

By Train: Take the Long Island Railroad to the Patchogue station on the Branch. Take the SCT bus S–63 to Waverly Avenue and Roe Blvd (college entrance).
