Peace candidate Hawkins on LI 10/15/06

We are excited that Howie Hawkins, our U.S. Senate candidate who hails from Syracuse, will be coming to Long Island for a house party next Sunday, October 15th, from 12 noon to 2 pm. http://www.hawkinsforsenate.org/

Sure hope some people will come. It is at Jeff Peress’s home and Ian and I are coming early to help set up.

You can RSVP to Ian and me, or call for directions. It would be great to have an idea of how many people are coming. Need to get veggie burgers AND we are going to go out Saturday and buy some corn out east.

Peace,
Kimberly

BBQ/Fund-Raiser for Howie Hawkins for US Senate this Sunday, in Glen Cove, Long Island 16 Douglas Drive, Glen Cove, NY 11542

Sunday, 10/15 * 12 noon – 2 PM
Suggested Donation: $25, (no one turned away.)

U.S. Senate candidate Howie Hawkins (Green Party), will be appearing at a house party in Glen Cove, on Sunday, October 15th from 12 noon to 2pm.

76% of the USA wants us out of Iraq this year, but the recently scheduled Senate debates have excluded Howie Hawkins, the only anti-war, pro-peace candidate, from participation. Hawkins recently won the endorsement of Michael Berg, a fellow Green candidate for Congress, and fellow well-known peace activist:

On the day that the new US Congress is sworn in next January, although I live in Delaware and Howie Hawkins is running in New York State, he will be my Senator. He will propose, support and vote on legislation that affects me, you and people around the world.
What will make him my Senator are his views on the Iraq Invasion. Howie Hawkins wants to bring the troops home immediately. Immediacy is essential in saving the life of the next victim of the atrocities taking place in Iraq. One person dies in Iraq every twelve minutes.
We need, I need, and the world needs US Senators like Howie Hawkins, with the strength, courage, and moral conviction, to end the path of aggression and death that we are on, and end it now.

Everyone is invited to attend this Sunday’s BBQ, and meet candidate Howie Hawkins in a relaxed, fun setting. Hawkins is a Teamster, an ex-Marine, and a co-founder of the national Green Party. He’s a dedicated life-long activist.

The event is hosted by local Green activist Jeff Peress. The suggested donation is $25. Political contributions are not tax deductible.
