An Evening with VIVIAN VILORIA-FISHER – a profile in courage on immigration policy and other issues of the day.  Led the battle to stop the recently passed by the Suffolk County Legislature anti-immigration legislation. First Latina elected to the S.C. Legislature and First Dominica nationwide elected to legislative office. Sponsor of the Resolution (not passed) that would have put the S.C. Legislature on record as opposing the Patriot Act.  A leader in mass transit and alternative energy policy, an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq.  Currently Deputy Presiding Officer of the S.C. Legislature and running for Suffolk County Clerk – would be the first Latina elected to county-wide office.

OPENING SONGS BY JORGE RENDEROS – Sole survivor of a death squad massacre in El Salvador where he was targeted for his union organizing, gained political asylum here where he helps others through immigration problems.  Currently leading art and cultural work in CAUSA (Salvadoran American Community  United in Action), a member group of NALEC (Network USA, Central American Caribbean)
