Open Call for Artists in ’07

The Julia and David White Artists’ Colony

Providing Residency Fellowships in Costa Rica
to Dedicated Artists from Around the World
www.forjuliaanddavid.org

Greetings from sunny Costa Rica!

Two spaces still available in April ’07! I’ve begun scheduling as far ahead as mid ’08, but still have some spaces to fill in ’07, including these two which I’m especially eager to fill. Please forward this to whomever you think might be interested – your referrals are so important and always successful in getting the word out. Thank you!

Are you, or is someone you know interested in facilitating or attending
a workshop hosted in Costa Rica?
Think 8 – 10 days of learning, sight seeing and cultural immersion!

Facilitators will be generously compensated with a fee, plus all expenses paid including roundtrip transportation. Attendees will pay for a package that will cover accommodations, most meals, tuition and scheduled activities – all for considerably less than they would pay to join a typical adventure tour. Let me know whatever it is you might be interested in teaching or learning. Have you ever thought about having a group event (your book club, maybe?) hosted in some faraway place…to do what it is you already do while experiencing a new culture and exploring the tropics? Just respond to this email with your idea and timeframe – and let’s make it happen!

Have you been Googled lately?

If you have been an artist in residence at The Colony, please check to see if your photo and bio information are posted on our web site for the year you were here. If you’re there, thank you, and please help us keep this information current. If not,

please send us your photo and bio
you’ll be amazed how quickly you come up on the web
once we’ve added you to our site…

You are welcome to post whatever information you like – about you, your work, your time at The Colony – if you want we’ll post your curriculum vitae. You’re also welcome to include whatever contact information you wish, including a link to any other web presence you may have. If you have a web presence and would like us to take your bio/photo from there, please email that permission.

If you took great photos while you were here, of other artists, Costa Rica or The Colony, please forward them on to us. With your permission, and of course recognition, we may ask to use them on our web site – which is currently undergoing an overhaul to more accurately reflect the beauty of The Colony and tropical Costa Rica.

Thank you as always, for staying in touch and helping us stay alive and well and growing.

Sincerely,

Royce Clay Slape
Director
