Daily Greens: Cynthia McKinney

Today at the Green Party national meeting was a long presentation on finance which some people were confused about. Also, presentations were made by the states who wish to host the next annual meeting.

The big fun was the showing of “American Blackout”, the story of the stealing of various elections and of Cynthia McKinney’s wins and losses. Greens loved it. There was hissing for many characters – including Bush and John Kerry. John Conyers actually got cheers – he did do some positive things in regards to questioning voter fraud. It was an animated watching of the movie. I hope that Greens received inspiration–and maybe even some know-how–about poll watching, from  scenes showing how McKinney’s campaign did that work.

At the end of the movie, Cynthia McKinney gave an inspiring speech and received two rounds of long loud chanting – “Run Cynthia Run”.  McKinney thanked the Ohio Greens, who worked hard with the 2004 Ohio recount. Also, Cynthia McKinney revived an important goal – she stated that if she ran, it would not be a light-hearted thing, but would have the purpose of getting the 5%. That is, if a presidential candidate receives 5% of the vote, their party gets federal matching funds.

Cynthia McKinney did not announce yet. She said she is talking to people and wants to talk more.

I was honored that I caught Cynthia McKinney in the hallway and got to shake her hand. And, I also asked her a question from the mic. Video of McKinney’s speech to follow this evening or tomorrow.

  1. What a wonderful, strong compassionate woman in Cynthia you have. I am a white, naturalised Australian woman and I love her for her moral integrity, her strength, her sincerity her humour and her vision based on her love for all humanity.

Please God keep her safe from the Bush family. The WORLD KNOWS what they did in 2001…and we are still waiting.
