Long Island Immigration Debate gets interesting

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWgvYs8C_C4]

Kate M. Browning is the Suffolk County Legislator representing the 3rd District. She has been involved in votes and discussions circling around the day laborer/immigration controversy.

This week, Richard Tufariello of Shirley filed papers with the Suffolk County Board of Elections, claiming that Kate Browning is not an American citizen. Ms. Browning is Irish, and states that she was naturalized as an American citizen, and that the claims are only Republican dirty tricks – Ms. Browning is up for re-election in November.

The video above is archival footage of Ms. Browning, with some of her comments during a hearing for an immigration-related bill.
