Roger Silverberg Music News 5/4/08

Hello everyone and especially to all newcomers to Roger Silverberg’s e-mail list. It is gratifying to have gathered so many new names from my performances in the last couple of months. I’ve believed since I started performing publicly again about 10 years ago that this music career is built on reaching one pair of ears at a time. You are all important to me and that’s one reason why playing out live is my favorite thing to do.
Hope I might see you at 1 (or more) of these shows.
Saturday, May 17: Munchaba Lounge
58 Gardiners Avenue, Levittown, NY
Roger Silverberg & Friends full band show 9 pm $5.00 cover
Munchaba Lounge is just south of Hempstead Turnpike behind the King Kullen
Wednesday, May 28: Googie’s Lounge upstairs above the Living Room
154 Ludlow Street, New York, NY
Solo acoustic (guitar & piano) Sharing two sets with rootsy Americana singer/songwriter Tom Boyd 7:30 – 9:30 pm

Thursday, June 12: Border Burrito presents “Songwriters on the Border”
81 Third Avenue (between 10th and 11th Street), New York, NY
Probably playing solo. Live music from 7 pm – 10 pm. My set begins at 8.
Friday, June 20: 169 Bar
169 East Broadway, New York, NY
This date was just added–could end up as a full band “acoustic” set 9:30 pm. $8.00 cover
169 Bar features live music from 8 pm – midnight
Saturday, July 5: The Spoon Coffee House
125A Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst, NY 7:30 – 10:30
3 sets. Performing with Mike Christian on bass
Now to the Album News: Basic tracks for all songs should be finished before the end of May. The sounds that I’m hearing in playback are the sounds I’ve been hearing in my head. This is a good sign. Backing vocals and horns to come and then it’ll be time to do those final mixes. There will be a new, full length Roger Silverberg album out this summer.
Alrighty: Now for the opt out notice. I try not to send tons and tons of e-mails. You will get announcement notes like this one, and maybe a reminder a week or so before a major appearance. Rarely more than 2 pieces in a given month. But, if you really, really do not wish to receive periodic e-mails from me, just shoot me a note with “Remove Me” in the subject line and I’ll take care of it.
Thank you for supporting Original Indie Music.
