Once a month, a varied group of musicians (a motley crew of misfits?) from all walks of life gather together for “the BACCA jam”; an informal song-swap style event for musicians of all skill levels that’s sponsored by the Babylon Arts Council (BACCA). Anyone attending one of these Sunday afternoon get-togethers will likely witness a rambunctious, non-stop, often great (sometimes a train-wreck!) flurry of songs both popular and obscure that range from folk to rock, country, pop, 60’s, along with some wonderful original material.  Well, the BACCA folks have asked us to pull together the best of what we do (not that we ever do anything the same way twice) and polish things up for a fundraising show/concert.   So, please join us for:

Jammin Tonight Featuring The BACCA Jammers on Wednesday, May 28th, 2008. Doors open at 7:30pm. The Rainbow Center, 293 Buffalo Avenue, Lindenhurst.   Donation $10 per person (includes free coffee and cake).  All proceeds support the Babylon Arts Council, a 501C3 not-for profit organization. FMSH (Folk Music Society of Huntington) First Saturday Concerts and Hard Luck Café.  Congregational Church of Huntington, 30 Washington Dr., Centerport.  For info: 631-425-2925  www.fmshny.org.  Most concerts are preceded by a one-hour open mic.

Eclectic Café.  The Eclectic Café is held on the second Saturday of each month, September through May.  The Unitarian Universalist Society of South Suffolk – 28 Brentwood Road Bay Shore
631-661-1278.  Parking is available along Brentwood Road. We ask that you please AVOID parking in the medical offices’ parking lots south of the church or in the parking lot across the street. The open mic starts at 7:30pm. Performers wishing to participate should sign up by 7:30.
The featured artists begin at about 8:30pm.  Admission is $10 for non-members ($5 for High School students with ID), and $8 for members. Membership is $12 a year. You can become a member at any time and your membership will be for a full calendar year, starting that month. Family memberships are also available. Ask at the ticket table for details. Refreshments are available.  We would also appreciate a donation of canned or dry food for local charity.  The Eclectic Café is an all-volunteer, non-profit committee of the UUSSS

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.  Tickets $20.00   71 East Main Street Patchogue   (631) 207-1313  Also, LIVE IN THE LOBBY is a series of concerts for small audiences held in the lobby of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM. These concerts feature artists from the Long Island area playing a wide variety of mostly original music in an intimate setting. The PTPA bar will be open; there will be chairs set up for sitting, and room around the bar for standing. All ages are welcome but age 21 proof is required for service at the bar.  Showtime 7:30 PM – Tickets at the PTPA box office or at the door.
