Long Island Wins: News Alert! – Levy Withdraws Bills

I just received the news that Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy withdrew his two bills this afternoon that would have required all contractors in Suffolk County to use the Social Seecurity Number Verification System (SSNVS) for all current and new hired employees.

Supposedly the statement says that Mr. Levy will be reconciling the e-verify system with SSNVS and will introduce a more comprehensive bill when the legislature resumes in August.

While it’s a sigh of relief for the moment, I am very wary of what may come….
