Peace Mom, independent candidate, and friend of the Greens, Cynthia McKinney is on the ballot!

Please visit Cindy Sheehan’s web-site to support her run for Congress (opposite Nancy “impeachment off the table” Pelosi).

As a Green activist, I wish that Cindy Sheehan would have run as a Green, but she is new to all this politics in many ways, and had lots of ideas and decisions to balance. Still, she is boldly independent, and running with the support of the San Francisco Green Party. I also have a soft spot for Cindy Sheehan, because when the Green Party of NYS ran Malachy McCourt for Governor, Sheehan made an endorsement video. There could be no doubt that a vote for Cindy Sheehan is a vote for PEACE! and a vote against the two-party system.

Cindy Sheehan just finished a successful petition drive, and she will be on the ballot for Congress in her district in California.

Here is an excerpt of the story from Independent Political Report:

Sheehan secures ballot access

August 8th, 2008

Independent Congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan has secured her place on the ballot to challenge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in California’s 8th House district. A message sent to supporters minutes ago details the scope of the effort
