Let Cynthia Debate!

It looks like the presidential debate is happening tonight after all. But, instead of an opportunity for voters to hear from all of our candidates, we’re getting a two-man show. Cynthia McKinney has been denied participation in the debates, as have all of the other non-corporate candidates- despite being on enough ballots to win the presidency.

Why are Cynthia and others being shut out? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Commission on Presidential Debates is OWNED and RUN by the Democrat and Republican parties, which have an interest in excluding all candidates except their own. The CPD is funded through contributions from corporations -corporations which have their own interest in silencing candidates who challenge corporate power.

How can the U.S. claim to have free and fair elections when we fail to recognize all of the candidates that qualify to participate? When will American voters be given the right to hear from the Greens, the Libertarians, Independents and other political parties?

But never fear, you can still hear from Cynthia McKinney tonight as she blogs her response to the men in suits at www.bloggingthedebates.com

Tune-in, log-on, and PARTICIPATE. Please spread the word.
