Sunday, October 19th at 1PM there will be an informational meeting regarding the ongoing NYS effort to build LI’s only official intermodal train to truck transfer station in the already congested area around Deer Park, Brentwood, and Dix Hills. As you know the bills to add the land to the Edgewood preserve were vetoed by Governor Paterson and we expect some of the candidates who are up for election to appear at this event and let us know how they intend to continue the fight to stop this ill-conceived plan. Meet at the parking lot on
Commack road… we’ll need you to show up for an hour or so to show them we are serious and not going to go away.
