Blagojevich out as Illinois Governor: Impeached 59-0

So, Governor Blagojevich loses his office. Previous Lieutenant Governor Patrick Quinn (Blagojevich’s runningmate) is now Governor. And, Rolad Burris, who Blagojevich appointed, is a Senator.

The Illinois Senate voted to remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office Thursday, marking the first time in the state’s long history of political corruption that a chief executive has been impeached and convicted.
