KW: In my research about what was happening with the 4/4/2010 earthquake, I found a 4/2/2010 article discussing why possible oil drilling near the Santa Barbara fault line could exacerbate earthquakes in that area. The author is Chris Landau. Landau just sent me over detailed comments on the sometimes connection between drilling, mining and earthquakes: here.
