Libertarian Sam Sloan files for Governor of NY

Until August 17, 2010 (Tuesday), statewide candidates running as independents, or on the lines of some third parties, can file their independent nominating petitions in Albany. At the NY State Board of Elections web-site, you can watch the petitions come in. Link for the constantly updated list is: here.

As reported previously at Independent Political Report, the Sam Sloan petitions are rival petitions to the ones expected to be filed by the Governor candidate chosen by the Libertarian convention, Warren Redlich. These petitions insert Sam Sloan as Governor Candidate, and then copy the other slate from the Redlich petitions.

Latest petitions filed for statewide office in New York:

A slate of Libertarian candidates:

Sam Sloan for Governor
Alden Link for Lt. Governor
John Gaetani for Comptroller
Carl Person for Attorney General
For Senator: John Clifton and Randy Credico

So far, the only other candidates listed as filing is a slate led by Carl Paladino under the TXP, Taxpayers Party line.
