There is a war going on in this country, and I am not referring to the War in Iran and the War in Afghanistan. I am talking about a war being waged by some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in this country against the working families of the United States of America, against the disappearing and shrinking middle class of our country. The reality is that many of the nations billionaires are on the warpath, they want more, more, more. Their greed has no end. And, apparently there is very little concern for our country or for the people of our country if it gets in the way of the accumulation of more and more wealth and more and more power… – Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders Rallies Activists To Sink Obama’s Tax Compromise
December 8, 2010
WASHINGTON — Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) told thousands of Americans that if Republicans “run over us now, there is no stopping these guys,” and called on activists across the country to sink Obama’s tax cut compromise.
Sanders has emerged as the most outspoken opponent of President Obama’s tax cut compromise, threatening to filibuster the legislation in the Senate and calling on Americans to take to the streets, or at least to their phones…
“If millions of people say to the president, ‘Mr. President you struck a bad deal!’ — we’ll win this fight!” he said.
Sanders vowed to do everything he can on Capitol Hill to block Obama’s deal from going through, but conceded that he will need some Republican support to kill the bill…
