It seems that the “inconvenient truth” is that Democratic Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone has the same policy on global warming as Republican President George W. Bush. Bellone is using town resources to oppose windmills on the rich, white shores of Amityville while he shoved a smokestack plant down the throats of West Babylon/Wyandanch residents. Important Public Meetings on the proposed Long Island Offshore Wind Park will be held on July 10 and 11.
We need your help in making a case for moving forward with this proposal that would generate enough pollution-free electricity from our abundant offshore breezes to power 44,000 Long Island homes.Please try to attend and speak at the Monday meeting if at all possible.
The public meeting dates are as follows:
July 10, 2006, 7 PM at West Babylon High School Performing Arts Center
500 Great East Neck Road, West Babylon, NY 11704 July 11, 2006, 7 PM at Massapequa High School (auditorium)
4925 Merrick Road, Massapequa, NY 11758Registration for each meeting will begin on site at 5:30 p.m.
