Senator Clinton’s Dirty Little Secret

To the Editor
The New York Times

There is a Dirty Little Secret about which few know that is beneath the latest clarification by Senator Clinton – February 17th in Dover N.H.- about her stance on the war in Iraq and her refusal to apologize for her vote in 2002 authorizing military action in Iraq.

A recent visit to Senator Clinton’s Long Island, NY office in Melville, found a locked door, a door bell to ring and a sign directing constituents to call ahead for an appointment. A staffer met North Country Peace Group members in a basement room of the building
and advised that the Senator would not be meeting peace groups at any of her nine New York State offices. However, the staffer indicated that the Senator would meet with CEO’s and any donors “probably not” in a basement room. This closed door response is from the Senator whose web page says ‘Please let me hear from you about your views on
issues that matter to your family and your community’ and whose Presidential web page says ‘Let the conversation begin’. Shouldn’t she ‘let the conversation begin’ with peace groups?

Sincerely,

The North Country Peace Group

Standing at 25A and Bennetts Road, each Saturday, 11:00am-noon, since
before the war began.
