While this bill, HR 157, was “adding” voting rights for D.C., groups such as the DC Statehood Green Party had opposed it as not going far enough, and possibly interfering in the battle to eventually gain full statehood for DC.

Bill to Expand U.S. House by Two Seats is Dead for This Year

On June 9, attempts to pass bills in Congress to expand the size of the U.S. House were abandoned. D.C. Delegate to the House Eleanor Holmes Norton removed HR 157 for consideration by the House this year. See this story in the Washington Examiner.
