When President Obama was an Illinois Senator he expressed opposition to the Iraq War. Whe he became a US Senator that opposition changed to support for the Iraq War in the form of a perfect voting record in favor of war appropriations. Some of Obama’s supporters claimed that Obama was merely lying about his support for the war in oreder to get elected president, and would change back to his anti-war stance when elected president. That “change” never happened. Obama has embraced Bush’s stance in Iraq (and extended Bush’s deadlines. Furthermore, Obama is sending even more troops in the war in Afghanistan. Obama’s presidential supporters should at least be relieved to find out that presidential candidate Obama was not a liar. He actually does support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems that his prior colleagues in the Illinois State Senate have taken his words as a State Senator to heart and voted to oppose the Afghanistan War. Will your town, county, and state elected officials be willing to listen to State Senator Obama and oppose the Afghanistan War?
