George Eisman has been a Registered Dietitian since 1978. He co-founded the American Dietetic Association’s Vegetarian Nutrition Practice Group and served as first editor of the newsletter, Issues in Vegetarian Dietetics. He has taught nutrition on the college and university level since 1980 and has lectured at national and international nutrition conferences. He has written articles for the Journal of Nutrition Education and now teaches the VEGEDINE Home-Study Course in Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition. He is the author of that course’s text and the popular book, The Most Noble Diet.

5:00pm Doors open for kids and parents only as we’ll present HealthyPlanet’s fun and informative demonstration on Food, Energy and Health.This presentation is appropriate for kids from pre-K through 6th grade and up, and has been done for thousands of students in schools across Long Island!

6:00pm Kids will move to some hands-on fun with healthy (and yummy) food demonstrations, while their parents hear a short talk by HealthyPlanet President and Healthy School Lunch Program Director, Bob DiBenedetto on The Simple Truth About Nutrition.We’ll also show a 12-minute video on a school lunch success story that entirely turned a school around.
6:30pm Doors open to the general public for our usual Dinner/Lecture
7:00pm Dinner
8:00pm Lecture and program begins with George Eisman, R.D.

This is a multi-part event with separate children’s activities all evening long. An important event for people of all ages — especially parents, kids, grandparents, school administrators, teachers and those of all ages who are interested simply in improving their health!If you are a parent, it is essential that you hear about steps you can take right now that may affect your children’s health for the next 100 years. (Kids under 12 are free with reservations.) At the same time, we’ll do our best to motivate your kids to choose more nutritionally sound foods with the fun and informative presentation we’ve done for thousands of school kids throughout New York. It’s a one-two punch you shouldn’t miss!

Eating to prevent common illnesses and to prevent life-threatening illnesses of the future can be easy and taste great too! You’ll discover how the right foods can protect against obesity, autoimmune disease, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and more.
