Bob Becherer – speaker and discussion with slides on his recent trip with Doctors without Borders to Aceh, a province of Indonesia on the northern tip of Sumatra, to help with recovery of basic communty needs after the tsunami. The devastation from the tsunami followed closely after the 2005 truce in the civil war that brought limitted autonomy from Indonesia to Aceh.
Bob will also share with us his recent experience touring NYC, Nashville, and Atlanta with the Doctors without Borders participatory exhibit, A Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City.
Bob Becherer is also active with Pax Christi, on the Board of Directors of the Civic Assn. of the Setaukets, and on the Parish Council of St. James R.C. Church.
