Please note our starting time: 7:30pm for the open mike and 8:30pm for the featured performers.
Denise Romas
Accompanying herself on guitar, Denise’s performances include her beautiful vocal interpretations of songs from well-known artists along with her well-written and often poignant originals. Her touching CD Single, A Healing Angel, has been offering comfort to many.
She has been the featured artist at such venues as Huntington Library, the Northport Arts in the Park Series, the Port Jeff Music on Main St. series, Soul Growth Café, and Author’s Playhouse. Denise is a member of the Island Songwriters Showcase, for which she has appeared as a featured artist. Many also know Denise for her work in LONESOME TRAVELER, a musical narrative about Lee Hays and The Weavers that she continues to perform in libraries across Long Island along with Ira Perlman.
While not on stage in venues on Long Island, Denise can be found ‘on stage’ every day in her elementary school music classroom, enjoying the privilege of teaching music and directing the school chorus.

Lora Kendall
Lora Kendall has been singing all her life. According to her mama, when she was born the doctor slapped her little butt and she emitted a musical cry. The doctor said, “A soprano!”
Lora’s early years were spent playing pop and show tunes. Throughout her college years and after, she performed as the lead singer of a number of rock and soul bands. Then came a twenty-some-odd year period of playing classical music as violinist with Sound Symphony, singing in and directing a church choir, and teaching violin, voice, viola and piano.
Sometime in 2001, Lora ventured out to an FMSH concert. The open mike was her inspiration, and she has been an active participant in the local music scene ever since, playing at open mikes and jams wherever they may be. She resumed songwriting, and is now a much sought-out studio musician and sideman. Currently, Lora is a member of the fabulous Americana band Tornado Alley, the country band The Red River Ramblers, and her own eclectic rock band Stone’s Throw.
