LET OUR REPRESENTATIVES KNOW WE CARE ABOUT WRONGFUL CONVICTIONS…
PACK THE HOUSE DURING INNOCENCE HEARINGS
The Senate Minority under Senator Schneiderman has called for public hearings on Innocence and Wrongful Convictions in New York. The first of these hearings is scheduled for April 11th at 9AM at the Charles Wang Center of Stonybrook University.
Among those who will testify are:
- recently exonerated Long Island resident Marty Tankleff,
- a former Duke Lacrosse defendant Reed Seligman,
- the Co-chair of Governor Ryan Commission’s on the Death Penalty, Thomas Sullivan, and
- Attorney Barry Scheck of the Innocence Project.
If you and/ or the groups you represent believe that no one should go to jail, possibly receive the death penalty if innocent, please attend. Large shows of support convince our Senators that we mean business and care about these issues.
