Israeli strikes kill 155

Israel has launched a series of strikes on dozens of Hamas security compounds throughout the Gaza Strip, killing at least 155 people.

Witnesses said Gaza’s police chief Tawfik Jaber was among those who were killed in an unprecedented series of simultaneous air strikes.

Many of the security compounds are in residential areas, and the attacks took place as children were leaving school.

CAIRO, Egypt: The Arab world reacted in shock to the attacks on the Gaza Strip on Saturday with scattered protests around the region and Egypt summoning the Israeli ambassador to express its condemnation of the strikes.
